Life lately

Hey Ya'll:D How's it going?  (no, seriously, tell me! I love hearing from my readers.)

Lately my life has consisted of classes and schoolwork. Since I am homeschooled, I take a lot of classes away from home. These past couple of weeks lots of new classes have started, like snowboarding, a wolf conservation class, and writing group!

Snowboarding:  I had one lesson and I stink at it. True story: One of my first times going down the hill, which is a step up from the bunny hill and in my opinion is huge, I finally stood up on my snowboard, and I was thinking "Wow! I'm actually doing it!".  I started to drift to the left, which was really icy. When I tried to turn right, I tumbled and landed in a big hole in the snow. Go me.

The wolf class:  This class is at a wolf conservation center and we learned about wolf behavior, habitats, breeds, etc. It was a blast! We met three of the ambassador wolfs, and this picture is of one of them looking at me. It was so cool! We also heard a wolf howl, and played a really fun game called wolves and bison! This class is going to be one of the highlights of my month.

Writing group: I have a writing group that my family holds at our house and we are using the program One Year Adventure Novel. I am on Chapter six of my story about a girl who gets lost in the woods. Sounds boring, I know, but I like to think that it's not. Maybe I'll post it when it's finished but don't hold your breath because my goal is for it to be 100+ pages long. I am on page 35!

I also started a photography class. I plan on doing a whole post on it, so keep an eye out ;)

Last but not least, I have been reading tons! I finished my audio book I Will Always Write Back by Caitlin Alifirenka and Martin Ganda

And, I am almost finished reading Every Soul A Star by Wendy
Mass

What have you been up to? Are you homeschooled? Do you wish you were? Tell me in the comments!

Thanks for reading!

Review of Truly Me #58

Hello!! Today I have a review of TM #58, as requested by Clara from www.Clarascraftcorner.wordpress.com

The best part about 58 is HER HAIR. IT'S AMAZING.
58 has dark skin, the Addy face mold, and curly brown hair.

Here is a closer look at her face,

And her hair.

I got my 58, Gloria, for Christmas, and I've only had to fix her hair once. I did this my spraying it with water and finger-curling the messy curls.

Here is a comparison between Mae's (TM 33,) Gloria's (TM 58,) and Abileen's (TM 44) Skin tones.

58's plush body is lighter than her vinyl skin.

And she has two neck ties.

I really love 58. She is so fun and unique! He face is so sweet! I recommend her 100%. Her hair is easy to care for, and she is overall such a beautiful doll!

Also, she is incredibly photogenic. Example:

This is a sneak peek of a photoshoot you'll be seeing soon;)

I hope this helped you Clara (and anybody else who is looking to get a new doll!) I love Gloria, and if any of you decide to get #58, I bet you'll love her too!

My thoughts on Lea Clark

Hello and happy January! I can't believe it's 2016! You know what that means.... A new Girl Of The Year!

Yay! I LOVE Lea Clark so much, so today I am going to share my opinion on her whole collection! Lets get started:D

Image result for american girl lea

Lea Clark $120
Starting with Lea.... SHE IS SO BEAUTIFUL! I love her hair so much. It is such a pretty color! I love her eyes too. And her meet outfit, except the shoes which are just ehh. I think it is so cool that she comes with a compass and a messenger bag! Way to go AG!

Lea's exclusive collection - $180
This comes with Lea, her accessories and the beach dress. I think this is cute but how much money are you actually saving? Well lets see.. $120 for Lea, $32 for her accessories, and about $30 for the other outfit = $182. I get that it comes with the exclusive outfit, but your not saving anything with the doll and accessories. I don't think that this is worth the price.

Lea's Accessories $32
I like this set, but won't be buying it. The camera is very cute, but I wish the colors were more realistic, like black or silver. Considering the set is mostly paper, I think it is a little overpriced. I would consider buying if it was $25 dollars or less.

Margay cat $20
This is cute...ish. I don't know. It's cute but those eyebrows...

Lea's Rain forest house $395
I LOVE this! The only problem is I don't have $400 dollars laying around... Or a place to put it. But everything about this is perfect. I love that you can move the bed and the furniture. I just wish that the inside had a tiny bit more room, so more than one doll could fit comfortably inside.

Lea's rain forest dreams pajamas $24
I have mixed feelings about these. I like the romper, but the slippers are weird in my opinion. Also, why is her hair up if it docent come with a hair tie or scrunchie? I think that this set doesn't come with enough. It could use a stuffed animal or sleep mask. Something to make this set bigger and more worth the money.

Three toed sloth $20
This is so cute! I won't be buying it because I don't see much use for it but it is super cute!

Lea's rain forest hiking outfit $34
I like this, but I don't love it. I really like the shirt, the pants are ehh, and the shoes are weird. I do however like how may accessories the outfit comes with, especially the belt.

Lea's rain forest hiking accessories $28
This is cute! The granola bars look huge though. I don't really think this is anything special.

Lea's fruit stand $150
I would love this but I find it really strange that there is not a third side. It honestly makes no sense to me. The accessories are cute, but I think it is too expensive. I will not be purchasing this.

Lea's mix & match swim set $34
I LOVE this set. I love the colors, and the price! Two swim suits for $34! That's unheard of from AG! I would love to own this on day. I really like the yellow top and the pink bottoms. So cute!

Lea's beach accessories $34
I am not a fan of this set. The turtles look so rubbery, and it is so overpriced! The snorkel and fins are cute, but not enough to make me want to purchase it.

Lea's ocean Kayak set $85
This set is cute and the price is fairly reasonable (for AG.) I really like the underwater camera <3

Sea turtle $18
This is my favorite of Lea's animals! It is so adorable! I really like it, but I think that all the animals should be the same price. This one is two dollars cheaper than the other two, which I find a little strange. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for cheapness, but I don't understand why two are the same price but one is not.

Lea's bahia outfit $28
This is so cute I want it for myself! I love everything except the shorts. I wish they had more detail, like pockets or belt loops and a belt. They are very dull and boring. Despite the shorts, I still think  I am going to purchase this. How could you resist those earrings with that shirt?? (Side note. This outfit doesn't come with the earrings, which I find very misleading. Why is she wearing them in the stock pictures if their not included??)

So that's her whole collection! Overall, I really like Lea and her collection. If I do get her (which I hope to one day) I will change the pronunciation of her name to Leah or Leigh.
What do you think of Lea? Do you want to get her??
Thanks for reading!

My Fall Reads And My Winter TBR's

Dia daoibh! Oh, look at that! Now you know how to say hello in Irish! You learn something new everyday;) Today I am going to do my second installment of my last season's reads and my this season's reads. I know it's been winter for a while now, but I was so busy that I totally forgot all about this. Better late than never.... right?

So starting with what I read this fall:

The Face On The Milk Carton by Caroline B. Cooney

No one ever really paid close attention to the faces of the missing children on the milk cartons. But as Janie Johnson glanced at the face of the ordinary little girl with her hair in tight pigtails, wearing a dress with a narrow white collar—a three-year-old who had been kidnapped twelve years before from a shopping mall in New Jersey—she felt overcome with shock. She recognized that little girl—it was she. How could it possibly be true?

Janie can't believe that her loving parents kidnapped her, but as she begins to piece things together, nothing makes sense. Something is terribly wrong. Are Mr. and Mrs. Johnson really her parents? And if not, who is Janie Johnson, and what really happened
?

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars. It was really good! The plot was intriguing, and the story was very believable. I really enjoyed reading it.

Rose by Holly Webb

How would you know if you were special?
Mr. Fountain's grand mansion is a world away from the dark orphanage Rose had left behind. The gleaming, golden house is practically overflowing with sparkling magic—she can feel it. And though Rose had always wanted to be an ordinary girl with an ordinary life, she realizes she may possess a little bit of magic herself.

I give this book 2 1/2 out of 5 stars. It started off as a really sweet book, and then in the end, there is a blood thirsty kidnapper stealing children for their blood! I thought overall the story line was good, but the end came out of nowhere and it was freaky.

The Island Of Dr.Libris by Chris Grabenstein

What if your favorite characters came to life? Billy’s spending the summer in a lakeside cabin that belongs to the mysterious Dr. Libris. But something strange is going on. Besides the security cameras everywhere, there’s Dr. Libris’s private bookcase. Whenever Billy opens the books inside, he can hear sounds coming from the island in the middle of the lake. The clash of swords. The twang of arrows. Sometimes he can even feel the ground shaking. It’s almost as if the stories he’s reading are coming to life! But that’s impossible . . . isn’t it?

I give this book 3 1/2 out of 5 stars. When I first started it, I did not think I was going to like it. The more I got more into it, the more I liked it, but the end disappointed me. It was weird and it felt very rushed. I think the rest of the book makes up for it, but it was still ehh.

A Kidnapped Santa Claus by L. Frank Baum

I could not find a synopsis for this book, sorry!

I give this book 2 out of 5 stars. I did not really like this book. I did not like the plot or the characters.

The Christmas Box by Richard Paul Evans

The Christmas Box, the touching story of a widow and the young family who moves in with her. Together they discover the first gift of Christmas and learn what Christmas is really all about. The Christmas box is a Christmas story unlike any other.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars. I loved it! It is such a sweet story about family and Christmas. I definitely recommend this book.

The Gift of the Magi by O. Henry

In a shabby New York flat, Della sobs as she counts the few coins she has saved to buy a Christmas present for her husband, Jim. A gift worthy of her devotion will require a great sacrifice: selling her long, beautiful hair. Jim, meanwhile, has made a sacrifice for Della that is no less difficult. As they exchange gifts on Christmas Eve, the discovery of what each has done fills them with despair, until they realize that the true gifts of Christmas can be found more readily in their humble apartment than in any fine store.

I give this book 4 stars. Despite it being a little bit boring, it was a short and sweet read, perfect for Christmas time.

Those are all my fall reads! On to what I'm currently reading!

Whatever happened to Janie? By Caroline B. Cooney

As Janie Johnson glanced at the face of the ordinary little girl on the milk carton, she was overcome with shock. She recognized that little girl—it was she. How can it possibly be true? But it is.

With the mystery of her kidnapping now unraveled, Janie's story continues, and the nightmare is not over. No one can bring back or relive the 12 years gone by. The Spring family wants justice, but who is really to blame? The Johnsons know that they must abide by the court decisions made, but it's difficult to figure out what's best for everyone.

Janie Johnson or Jenny Spring? Who is she? Certainly there's enough love for everyone, but how can the two separate families live happily ever after?

This is the second book in the The Face On The Milk Carton series, and honestly, I do not like it as much. It's not that it's a bad book, it just hasn't roped me in yet. One of these days I have to sit down and really read it.

Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix by J.K. Rowling

In his fifth year at Hogwart's, Harry faces challenges at every turn, from the dark threat of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named and the unreliability of the government of the magical world to the rise of Ron Weasley as the keeper of the Gryffindor Quidditch Team. Along the way he learns about the strength of his friends, the fierceness of his enemies, and the meaning of sacrifice.

I CANNOT FOR THE LIFE OF ME GET INTO THIS BOOK! This is my third time trying to force myself to read this. I love all of the other HP books I've read but this one is so boring! I want to just get through it so I can read the other ones and watch the movies!

The Grimm Legacy by Polly Shulman

Elizabeth has just started working as a page at the New York Circulating Material Repository - a lending library of objects, contemporary and historical, common and obscure. And secret, too - for in the repository's basement lies the Grimm Collection, a room of magical items straight from the Grimm Brother's fairy tales. But the magic mirrors and seven-league boots and other items are starting to disappear. And before she knows it, she and her fellow pages - handsome Marc, perfect Anjali, and brooding Aaron - are suddenly caught up in an exciting, and dangerous, magical adventure

I am loving this book so far! I am not very far into it yet, So I don't have much to say other than what I've read has been very good!

That's it for the Currently Reading list! Next up are my Winter TBR's (To be read.) I have a huge stack of books that I want to read, but since this post is already SO long, I'll just select a few.

Keeper Of The Lost Cities by Shannon Messenger

Twelve-year-old Sophie has never quite fit into her life. She’s skipped multiple grades and doesn’t really connect with the older kids at school, but she’s not comfortable with her family, either. The reason? Sophie’s a Telepath, someone who can read minds. No one knows her secret—at least, that’s what she thinks…

But the day Sophie meets Fitz, a mysterious (and adorable) boy, she learns she’s not alone. He’s a Telepath too, and it turns out the reason she has never felt at home is that, well…she isn’t. Fitz opens Sophie’s eyes to a shocking truth, and she is forced to leave behind her family for a new life in a place that is vastly different from what she has ever known.

But Sophie still has secrets, and they’re buried deep in her memory for good reason: The answers are dangerous and in high-demand. What is her true identity, and why was she hidden among humans? The truth could mean life or death—and time is running out.

I can't wait to read this! I started the first pages but I decided to read something else first. I liked what I read!

Storybound by Marissa Burt

In the land of Story, kids go to school to learn to be the perfect character: a brave Hero, a trusty Sidekick, even the most dastardly Villain. They dream of the day when they will live out Tales written just for them.
But when an ordinary girl named Una Fairchild finds herself Written In to Story, she discovers that the magical land is threatened by a dark secret. As she digs deep into Story's shadowy past, Una realizes that she is tied to the world in ways she never could have imagined—and it may be up to her to save it.

This sounds so interesting! I am so excited to read it! I love the cover... It's so pretty! LOL I love books with cool covers.

Anyone But Ivy Pocket by Caleb Krisp

Ivy Pocket is a walking disaster, at every turn enraging and appalling the fancy aristocrats she works for. But our protagonist doesn't see herself that way at all. In fact, she's convinced she's rather wonderful, perfectly charming, and extremely talented. When Ivy finds herself abandoned and penniless in Paris, she has no idea how she will get back to England. Fate intervenes when Ivy is called to the sickbed of a dying duchess and is charged with delivering a spectacular (and possibly cursed) diamond necklace to Matilda Butterfield on her twelfth birthday. From that moment on, Ivy Pocket is propelled towards her remarkable destiny in a surprising adventure full of villains, mayhem, and misunderstandings.

This book sounds so quirky and weird! The illustrations inside the books are so beautiful <3 <3

Have you read any of these books? What books have you read lately? Comment and let me know!
